Hi there...
The truth behind "Miranda" Where did she come from. How did she become the woman she is today. Where did she learn her creative ways. What is behind that name. I am Miranda. I was born in a small town in New Mexico. In the late 70's, it was a lot more quiet than it is today. It was a simpler time.
My creativity was actually first introduced to me very young. I never knew women could make things with their hands and sell to make money. My great-grandmother learned to work with her hands. And she taught my grandmother, also when down the line to my mother and aunts. All the women in our family never worked for anyone but themselves. Very fascinating time. So, I started to think of how I can be the same way and started dreaming of things I could do. Curious on what I was capable of doing. I have always been a hard-worker so that was not an issue for me.
My Great-Grandmother was a very sweet but strong lady. She was very kind and a heart of gold. I loved sitting with her and just talking about my day, her day, the weather, her herd of sheep and goats. How she was feeling and if she had lunch. It was so easy to carry a conversation with her. She did not speak English so it made her feel good to hear me talk in our native language ( Navajo Language) I would see her smile and her laugh was beautiful. I miss her. So, I am sure I got her caring, loving kind heart. She was always helping neighbors or relatives in events or parties. She never hesitated to help. She was a wonderful lady. I learned so much kindness and being helpful and just feeling the joy of helping and making someone happy. I am very fortunate to have had a good lady like my Great-Grandmother in my life. She was one of the women that had part in raising "Miranda."
I also had another lady that had part in molding me into the woman I am today. My Grandmother. Oh what do I say about her. She is just as talented as her mother. She was also a very funny lady. Silly at times. She loved to laugh. She was sort of a Diva Navajo Lady. She loved all the fancy parts of being a woman. She had very expensive taste. She did not settle for average. I see her dressing up, putting on her turquoise jewelry and she always put some perfume on to set her outfit. She was a very strong independent woman. She raised 5 children, 4 grand-children she basically adopted including myself and supported her mother. She supported us emotionally, financially, and spiritually. My Grandmother was always there for us. She never gave up on anything. We needed her and she loved that feeling of being needed. So, my independence and strong willed personality comes from her. I learned not to give up and if I really want it, to work hard to get it. She always said, " if you want to make it, you have to get up early to get it." It's a lot easier to say in our language (Navajo Language) She had a lot to say. I loved to make her laugh. I had so many stories. I sometimes think about her and see her smile.
My mother is a beautiful woman. Talented in many ways. I learned leadership skills from her. Her independence, her beauty and her skills are unmeasurable. She came from a line of Independent Women. Ambition was exercised throughout my childhood. My mother is a great cook. Designing and making clothes came to her very easy and her talent gave her a life she could be proud of. I learned so much from this lady. I enjoy cooking, my ambition is through the roof, my outlook on life is so bright and I have these 3 Women to thank. I have all the best qualities from them and it made me proud of who I am today.
I am happy to a great Mother, a Supportive Sister, an amazing Daughter and I love who I am. Thank you all for reading and that is a little about where I became "Miranda"
Thank you for all the Support
Lots of Love.
